Lauren Faggiano

Keyboard & Vocals

Since the time of her childhood, music, writing and sharing her gifts for both have been Laurens true passions. In her formative years she began her musical journey by studying the viola and participating in the school chorus which toured Europe in 1996. Wanting to absorb more, she taught herself the guitar and piano and began to immerse herself in a variety of musical styles.

From these experiences Lauren pursued a degree in Music Therapy at SUNY Fredonia. Today, Lauren works in the Rochester area as a board-certified music therapist, assisting adults with developmental disabilities.

Lauren is a dynamic performer with her bands, the deep blue dream, and Lauren Faggiano Jimmie Highsmith Jr. Project, as well as her solo acoustic sets. When performing a solo set, Lauren often plays several instruments simultaneously by incorporating a loop station. Her debut CD entitled "into the blue" was released in July of 05'. Over time, 98.9 the buzz, 89.7 WRUR, 88.5 WRUR, and 96.5 WCMF have all invited Lauren on their shows as a featured artist. Brother Wease, a well known radio personality in the Rochester area, said the following about Lauren's singing: "Bitch can sing!""Into the blue" has also been played on First Impressions and the Local Show on 90.5 WBER. Lauren's voice has been referred to as "big & bawdy" (Jeff Spevak, Democrat and Chronicle)"creamy alto" & "her big pipes" (Frank DeBlase, City News Paper). Lauren has been featured in the magazine "Life in the Finger lakes", "The Insider", as well as in the "City" news paper, and has appeared on "The Music Show", which airs on public access television, both advocating for her band, as well as music therapy. The influence of many musical legends can be found in Laurens original works which have become very popular with her ever-growing base of fans. The Deep Blue Dream was founded by Lauren, in 2006, but took it's present form in March of 2007 when Faith joined the band.
